Cranberry cocktail with sugared cranberries on a cocktail pick

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup amaretto
  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • sugar, for coating

Instructions

  • To make the sugared cranberries, bring sugar and water to a boil in a small saucepan.
  • Stir over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add in amaretto, and remove from the heat.
  • Place fresh cranberries in a sealable container, and pour the sugar mixture over the berries.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours.
  • Place a cooling rack on top of a piece of aluminum foil.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove the cranberries from the bowl, and place them in a single layer on the cooling rack.
  • Allow the berries to dry for 30 minutes before coating with sugar.
